Performing Bach's Double Violin Concerto at age 16 gave me a lifetime of awe for Menuhin and Oistrakh. The gift of these 2 gentlemen is beyond words.

Looks like a cornet, but sounds more like a trumpet.

Well, that first movement is just astonishing. Frequently, Bach seems to be played with too much.... reverence. These two violinists attacked that first movement with such vigor that it made me understand Bach in a new way. Also, the recording is remarkable for its time.

bach is the king of all composers, it is just above ground compared with any of them.. i like classical and the majority of them, the only one that i never liked is mozart, but bach is just super human music, i can never get enough of bach. it is so beautiful, it stops your other thoughts when you listen
